Westonbirt: First Fall

A browning Japanese maple at Westonbirt Arboretum.

Autumn 2025 marked my first visit to Westonbirt Arboretum. It’s a bewitching lure for dendrophiles, and now I understand why.

We fuelled up at their quaint restaurant. The cold, misty microclimate in the forest is real; my indulgent ham & leek pie went down a treat and prepared me for a long, but thoroughly enjoyable shoot.

A hearty ham & leek pie, dusted with herbs and crispy onions, on a bed of red cabbage and mash.

Once our bellies were full, we dashed off into the Old Arboretum. Surrounded by trees of varying ages and colouring, it was a feast for the eyes (and my camera). I hope the photos below convey the wonder I felt, enough for you to hop in the car and experience it for yourself.
