Dyrham Park

The manor house at the National Trust site Dyrham Park.

Another wintery day, another National Trust site. Dyrham Park is home to a sprawling woodland and a modest manor house. The inside was decorated with Christmas ornaments, among a swathe of callbacks to the tech of the 90s — CRT TVs, VHSes, GameBoys, and more. Its grounds were pleasantly curated, home to a variety of birds and small animals.

The cafe was up to the usual high standard of National Trust sites, complete with a local cat leveraging its cuteness to build up its winter reserves. The “do not feed” text emblazoned on its bandana deterred most of the patrons from succumbing to its meows, hoping that a few strokes and scritches satisfied it.

Now, enjoy some photos of the grounds, manor house, local wildlife, and sunset over the Somerset countryside.
